The call almost always comes at 11:30 PM.
A child running a fever. An elderly parent who skipped the evening dose. Someone whose chest cold suddenly got worse. Whoever it is — the realisation lands the same way: the medicine is finished, and every pharmacy you know has closed for the night.
If you've lived in Pune for any length of time, you know this scramble. Driving across the city at midnight looking for a 24-hour chemist. Calling friends. Searching Google Maps and hoping the "Open 24 hours" tag is actually true tonight.
There's a better way now — and it's worth knowing about before the next emergency.
Step 1: Don't panic, and don't drive
The instinct is to grab your keys and start driving. Don't. A frantic late-night drive across Pune for a strip of antibiotics is exactly when accidents happen.
Sit down. Take a breath. Open WhatsApp.
Step 2: Message a 24-hour-aware service
MediGrab operates from 8 AM to 10 PM for standard orders. For genuine medical emergencies outside those hours, we route to partner pharmacies that operate late — including a handful in Koregaon Park, Aundh, and near the major hospitals that maintain night counters.
Send a WhatsApp message to +91 87888 76943 describing:
- What medicine you need (brand name or generic, both work)
- The patient's age (helps for child-specific dosing)
- The neighbourhood you're in
We'll find the nearest open pharmacy and get a rider dispatched.
Step 3: Have these things ready
While we coordinate on our end, here's what speeds things up:
- A photo of the previous prescription (if it's a prescription medicine you're refilling)
- A clear delivery address with a Google Maps pin — at night, riders need precise locations
- Patient's symptoms in one sentence — sometimes the medicine you asked for isn't the right one, and our partner pharmacists will flag it
Step 4: What if nothing's open?
For genuine emergencies where no late-night pharmacy can dispense — high fever in an infant, severe allergic reaction, suspected cardiac event — go directly to the nearest hospital emergency room. Don't wait for medicine delivery.
The hospitals with 24-hour pharmacies attached in Pune include Jehangir Hospital, Ruby Hall Clinic, Sahyadri (multiple locations), and Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. Their on-site pharmacies will dispense to anyone, prescription in hand.
We can help with everything else — the cold medicine, the missed dose, the strip of paracetamol. We can't replace the ER.
The two questions we hear most often
"Do you charge extra at night?" Standard delivery fee applies. There's no surge pricing. The medicines themselves are billed by the pharmacy at MRP.
"What if you can't find the medicine?" We'll tell you honestly within 10 minutes if nothing nearby has it in stock, so you can make a different call. We'd rather tell you "no" quickly than keep you waiting for a delivery that isn't coming.
Save the number now
The best time to save our WhatsApp number is when you don't need it. Add +91 87888 76943 to your contacts as "MediGrab Pharmacy" and forget about it until the next 11 PM call.
That's the entire pitch. Save a number, sleep a little better.
